Repurposed Architecture: 1920 Factory Turned into Gallery and Contemporary Residence in San Antonio, Loft of Collectors by Poteet Architects

“Is space getting cramped?” Lately I’ve seen so many homes and apartments being turned into more than just a modern living. There is one a minimalist house in Japan which has a concert hall on its first floor and now it’s this apartment which has been turned into a modern living space and art gallery. So if I may continue my previous question will be “Is space at premium that people decided to make a two in one house or simply it’s just a matter of hobby?”

This modern apartment which has been turned into contemporary living is made by Poteet Architects and it’s designed for artist who was once a great collector of art. This contemporary Residence is located in San Antonio, Texas, USA. The architect has superbly combine the old structure and the new modern interior in white, emphasizing the existing texture of masonry with new walls, floors and lacquered cabinets. On the upper level is where the house of a large gallery. In its beautiful garden covered settles on this, where volume stands clad in Corten steel in height and is an excellent space for entertainment. This contemporary loft, which was once 1920 factory, occupies two floors including the roof. Amazing repurposed architecture isn’t it?
