Repurposed Church Turned into The Highest Contemporary Living, The Bluestone Residence in Australia
It’s really hard indeed to get out from the stigma and characteristic of the previous building. No matter what the architect did sometimes you can still see that the repurposed building image still stuck. It’s like this 1850 church which is located on Castle Street, Parkside, Australia, has been turned into a modern residence. It’s true that the interior of this amazing bluestone house is a home not a church but the front look of this house, from windows to door still resemble that it was a church.
The church had gone into several surgeries and has been renovated in order to meet the highest contemporary living standards. It was a now wonder why the façade of this renovated house still has the look of a church when we finally got the idea that the architect wanted to have the modest living while preserving its original architecture. This repurposed building houses spacious bedrooms, very well equipped kitchen, open style living room where the ceilings are at about 5 meters in height, security system equipping the entire house, automated garage, entertainment room, an amazing garden that comes with lighting and automatic watering system and a patio where everyone will love to stay there for hours while reading books. I guess it’s not your average church…I mean old house with modern interior. Almost forget, can you tell us who design the interior?
