Day 15 of things I love…Kinderhook, NY
I have to tell you all about one of my favorite places in the worldKinderhook, NY.
With a population of 1000, you wouldnt think it would be all that. But two of my best friends live there. Fabric designer extraordinaire and gardener Michael Devine and talented interior designer Thomas Burak, have introduced me to the gorgeous and serene little village they call home.
Just a train ride up the Hudson River from New York City with its bright lights, tall buildings and suits hailing cabs, is quaint Kinderhook. And Kinderhooks laid back charm is the total opposite of big city life.
When I am in Kinderhook we take walks in Michael’s garden, spend the morning at the Farmer’s Market selecting the fresh and gorgeous things we are going to cook for dinner. Then we spend the afternoon in the Upstate New York countryside shopping for antiques before settling down in Michael and Thomas backyard for a champagne cocktail and a delicious home-cooked meal.
This little town is a little piece of Heaven and I cant wait to visit again soon.
